Hello Friends! My name is Lori - the owner, & the face behind it all! A lot of people always ask - how did you get started in this line of work? The story isn’t as cool as some would think. So here it is. Short & sweet. My sister was expecting her third baby, she was in her third trimester and I decided to plan a baby shower because what the heck, every new baby deserves to be celebrated.

I've been a Pastry Chef for private clubs and resorts for the last 15 years. Earlier this year, I decided to start my own cake boutique for the Charlotte community. I specialize in gourmet wedding cakes and dessert displays that are sure to give your guests the wow factor! I offer one on one tastings and consultations for couples and family. What started as an experiment in flavor, quickly evolved into a community-wide obsession for making the best quality ice cream for anyone who walked in our door. From the kitchen counter to the farmers market and beyond our dedication to unique flavors crafted from premium ingredients and passion for pleasing has brought Mama Bird’s to where we are today. Our name, Mama Bird’s, is rooted in our past and a nod to our first taste testers – our daughters, “Mama” for Averi, and “Bird” for Taylor. Since then, we’ve gained countless other taste testers and they all agree, this is how ice cream is supposed to be made.

Miri Nadler is a self-taught cake artist and owner of Miri Nadler Cake Design in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her flowered masterpieces are hand painted with a palette knife and her choice of icing is creamy buttercream instead of the usual hard sugar fondant impossible to eat. Inspired by the Art Décor era and mid-century design, her magnificent next level cakes are in the theme of beautiful flowers and are inspired by a bride’s floral bouquet. Miri Nadler Cake Design offers both custom cakes and pre-made cakes with Miri's special floral designs.
