What keeps me wanting to photograph more weddings is the realization that every wedding carries a different story longing to be told. No two weddings have ever felt the same to me, and when I walk into yours, all the images I have made at other weddings are forgotten. I see it a bit like jazz, or French cuisine--the ingredients are simple and pretty much always the same, but the outcomes are always unique, never to be reproduced to the identical.

Before I ever held a camera, as a kid I was obsessed with organizing and reorganizing printed family snapshots in albums. This infatuation with captured moments, led to picking out my first film camera, a 35mm Pentax, film developing and darkroom printing in high school, and then my BFA in Photography Degree. From there, I worked in varied sectors of photography, but my true passion lay in documentary work that could bring about awareness of challenging global situations. I have published and exhibited journalistic series internationally, notably at Oxford University and Aperture Foundation.

CLY BY MATTHEW has evolved at year 2004 from fashion, portrait and still life photography to the wonderful world of wedding photography, which incorporates all three genres. I have been a photographer for 21 years - it all started when my Mom gifted me my first camera to take on a trip. I shot 30 rolls of film, in a week, all in black & white. I wrote down what I love most - I LOVE people, travel, & photography. I hung up my cleats that very year and went full steam ahead into the most rewarding career I could have ever chosen. I found my way behind the camera after years of art directing in the fashion industry in NYC. I always loved photography as it captures a moment in time, frozen forever. Taking my knowledge & experience from my fashion days, mixing it with my love for romance, love & art I made the leap to weddings. I photograph film in which I believe that is has a romantic dreamy elegance that only film can capture. I’m based in Honolulu,Hawaii, and I love to travel. Exploring the world to learn about new cultures, meet new people, get lost in a museum and drive the countrysides taking in the sublime sceneries around brings me joy.

Hi! We're Jeremiah & Cody. We met working in a music store in 2009 and instantly became like brothers ("Did we just become best friends?" "YUP!"). In 2011, Jeremiah's wife volunteered him to shoot her sister's wedding and he genuinely enjoyed it. So, he began shooting weddings. In 2016, Cody graduated RIT with a Visual Arts degree and was looking for his next move. Luckily for all of us, Jeremiah talked Cody into relocating to the Hudson Valley to help him with his weddings. And here we are! The two of us get really excited to take really cool pictures.
