The HomeStead in Oak Glen is located in the foothills of the San Bernardino mountains. It's just a short jump off the 10 freeway on your way to Palm Springs. This charming and vintage property provides a welcoming atmosphere. From the backdrop of our heritage apple orchard to our tree-shaded reception area, it will be a day you will be proud to call your own. Here at the HomeStead we pride ourselves on not being copy and paste, each wedding here is built around the couples individualized style and vision. Due to our elevation (4,750ft), we have Season's! Our Spring is lush and green (last weekend of April thru mid-July). Summer is generally temperate (late July to August), and in Fall, the colors are eye-catching (September thru mid-November). Weddings are not scheduled from the last week in November through mid-April, but we are open for tours and visits throughout the year. Julia Morgan was a world renowned female architect who designed more than 700 buildings in California. She was the first woman admitted entrance to Beaux-Arts De Paris, the most prestigious architectural school in the world at the time and in 1904, Morgan became the first woman to obtain her architect license in California. In 1922 she did an extensive remodel of property, while concurrently working on Hearst Castle. This included adding the Conservatory, the present day Sky Suite, the Fireplace mantel in the Ballroom, and more. This is a one of a kind location in the high desert, surrounded on three sides by the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. We are located about an hour outside of San Diego but it feels like a world away. Our property has a bar with a dance floor, a 4,000 sq ft. outdoor, covered patio and many beautiful outdoor spaces. The property has a motel with 10 rooms, 300 RV sites with full hooks-ups, multiple tiny homes and trailers for rent, and ample tent camping sites. There are many unique opportunities for photos such as abandoned train cars, Temple Peak and an old Western hotel which has been featured in a television pilot. On site we have an indoor heated pool, outdoor pool and hot tub, and large restaurant space.
