Travel Note
Check back often as new places might pop up but we would encourage booking early and perhaps coordinating with other family and friends to share a rental!
Travel Note
There are NO buses, taxi service, Uber, or Lyft in the Blue Hill area. If you are traveling to Blue Hill for the event, you will need to rent a car (or coordinate with someone renting a car) in order to get around. NOTE: If you're flying into Bangor, we definitely recommend booking a rental car EARLY, as they do run out.
Flight
The closest airport is Bangor Airport, which is about an hour's drive from Blue Hill. We recommend renting a car for travel to & from the airport, as you'll need one to get around Blue Hill for the weekend. There is one cab in the Bangor area (Brad's cab 207-941-9695); however, if you do need to coordinate a ride to/from the airport or bus station. You should definitely plan to schedule the ride in advance.
Flight
The Portland Jetport is a 2.5-3 hour drive from Blue Hill. Portland is also a great city - if you haven't spent any time there, definitely worth taking a day to explore, and we're happy to share recommendations! We recommend renting a car for travel to & from the airport, as you'll need one to get around Blue Hill for the weekend. The Concord Coachlines bus (https://concordcoachlines.com/) is also great and goes directly from Portland to Bangor Airport, if you're coordinating car travel with folks arriving in Bangor.
Flight
Boston Logan is a good option if you're looking for direct flights, particularly for any folks traveling further. We recommend renting a car for travel to & from the airport, as you'll need one to get around Blue Hill for the weekend. Concord Coachlines (https://concordcoachlines.com/) also goes directly from Logan to both Bangor and Portland Airports, if you're coordinating travel with other folks arriving in Bangor or Portland.
Travel Note
If you decide to drive, most GPS routing will take you up I-95 to Augusta and then east toward Penobscot Bay. This is definitely the quickest route, but if you have time, you could consider driving up Route 1 along the seacoast and exploring more of coastal Maine.
