When Zack and I first started to date, we truly bonded over our love of skiing and the mountains. Unbeknownst to me, a proposal on a ski hill was always his dream. So, after dating for awhile , I started to hint to Zack that my left hand was feeling a little too “light”. He got the hint. In January, on a trip to see my family back in Washington State. We went skiing with my family at my home mountain that I grew up going to. It was so wonderful and we made so many memories. I got to share with him some of my favorite places that I have grown up skiing with my family. It was perfect. I didn’t think anything about the proposal necessarily, after the morning went by I was sure it wasn’t going to happen that day. Then on the next run up my dad decides to take a run with me. We got halfway down the hill and we realized that my mom and Zack aren’t coming down. After waiting for about five minutes or so my mom comes down and tells us Zack is having a really hard time because he’s having some pretty intense leg cramps. And I was like, “legs cramps????” but sure enough, a minute later here he comes, struggling down the mountain. I felt so bad, he looked like he was in such pain. My parents decide to take a picture to remember this funny moment. I thought it was a strange request, but I went along with it. As we go to take the picture a family skis up next to mine and watches us take a picture. I’m thinking the whole time, “who is this family that decided to watch just take a picture”. I look over and I see Zack’s mom, his dad and his younger sister Brycelynn. I am mediately started to cry as I turned around and saw Zack on one knee and tell me, “I really do have cramps, I’m not lying about that. But I would also really like to marry you if thats okay?”. And after a lots of tears and hugs, I said yes! Now, just four months later, we get to celebrate together on May 21, 2023 as Zack and I start our life together.
