I can't actually pinpoint the first time I met Paul. Maybe I'd even seen him in pictures before we'd met in person, but I thought of him as the cute guy that was always hanging around in the apartment above my friends'. I thought the lip ring was cool, but the studded belt was a bit too hardcore for me. We first connected at a rooftop party one night, but it wasn't until nearly three years later that we'd actually start dating. Somewhere in between there we were getting late night pizza at BHOP when the entire restaurant broke out in song when Biz Markie's "Just a Friend" came on. Pretty damn spot on if you ask me.
We met for the first time in the summer of 2010 (AKA The Summer of 69). I was crashing at a friends apartment for the summer, and their downstairs neighbors were your friends. We had seen each other around before, but never actually met until then. We got quite close then, but we eventually fell apart. That was my fault. For the next few years we went our separate ways, but my feelings for you never left. It’s hard to describe what brought us back together. Perhaps its the time we shared at 69 Gainsborough. I think that summer bonded us and our friends forever, so much that even years apart couldn’t shake You and I from each other. A couple years later, we bumped into one another at this really classy bar, Our House East. I am sure your remember the place. We caught up, we danced, we even drank some neon colored shots from test tubes (again, only the classiest of joints for you). I remember it was cold, and you wore my jacket as I walked you home. I don’t even think I got a kiss goodnight, but I was so psyched. I walked home alone, but happy. Full of hope that you and I would get a second chance together. From that point forward is our life together. Most people don’t get second chances. I am forever grateful for ours. To my best friend, lover, partner, and soon, wife.
We couldn't be more excited to be showing all of our favorite people one of our favorite places. We're channeling the summer camp Yard never went to with a weekend full of activities, friends, dancing, and the outdoors. And love, of course.
