The story of us

It was Summer 2013. Jon and Sophie started working at Sokolove Law. Sophie worked at the front desk, while Jon (who was frequently late) would always sneak in through the back door. A whole year went by before their paths finally crossed! They were introduced one day at lunch by groomsman, John Purdy Holder. They quickly discovered their mutual love for electronic dance music group, Above and Beyond, which started a beautiful friendship. The next two years were filled with adventures, parties, music festivals, exploring Boston, and having fun with their friends. On October 23, 2016, they decided to make it official, thus starting a beautiful relationship.

The proposal

Date: April 7, 2019 Time: Sunrise Location: Mount Batur, Bali, Indonesia Sophie and Jon were picked up at 2:00am from their villa. They drove an hour out to the base of Mount Batur, an active volcano on the island of Bali. With flashlights in hand, they followed their guide up the mountain. After about 2 hours, they reached the top and found the perfect spot to sit and watch the sunrise. As the sun started to creep up over the water, Jon anxiously looked for a good spot for a picture (very odd, Sophie thought!). A sweet couple was able to capture the moment when Jon got down on one knee and asked Sophie to marry him. She said, "yes of course!"

The ceremony

COVID ain’t stoppin’ us!

On August 14, 2020, we decided to tie the knot, even though we were unable to share this moment with our loved ones. We spent weeks looking for the perfect spot to have a private ceremony. Finally, we discovered a private grassy field on the cliffs overlooking the ocean in Nahant, MA. It couldn’t have been more perfect! We were able to say our vows, exchange rings, and even had our first dance. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset picnic together for the first time as husband and wife.
