How We Met

2007

We met in 7th grade English class. We were the definition of “opposites attract.” Wyatt was a quiet and shy boy, I was loud and obnoxious. We “dated” from 7th to 8th grade and split ways before high school, but even after that I swore I was going to marry him. I was so sure of that fact that I bet my sister $20 in 7th grade that I was going to marry him. He was one of my best friends all through high school, we started dating each other at the end of senior year and the rest is history.

How He Asked

December 17, 2018

We had been planning a day trip up to Big Bear to play in the snow. After a long, frustrating day at work, Wyatt surprised me and said “Let’s just go.” When we got up to Big Bear, it was packed. We couldn’t find anywhere to pull off the road to have a snowball fight and I just wanted to go home. It was such a long day, but Wyatt was determined for us to have fun. After driving around for over an hour, Wyatt found a picnic area where we could hike up the mountain to play in the snow. When we had climbed up the mountain, he wanted to take some pictures but setting up a self timer and running through 2 ft of snow was NOT EASY. So finally, he said “Let’s just take a video.” SUPER SMART and VERY SNEAKY. I had no idea what he was planning. After posing for a few snaps in the video, he asked “Do you want to take any other pictures?” But I figured we’d had enough so I went to take the camera down. As I was starting to walk away he said “One more thing.” He dropped down on his knee in the FREEZING snow asked me to MARRY HIM!
