How we met

Invisible String Theory

Our story started long before we ever met, where our lives seemed to intersect without us meeting until the time was right. We both went to college in Burlington, VT where Patrick was a DJ at my favorite local college bar. Patrick's college friends, Inana and Griffin, were also bartenders at local hotspots I frequented. After we both graduated, we independently moved to Boston, MA. I picked up a second job bartending at a popular Allston bar, where I formally met Inana and Griffin who were also bartenders. Patrick kept DJing in Boston and soon found a DJ gig at the bar where I started bartending. It wasn't long before Inana and Griffin (strongly) suggested we go out on a date. I said I would if the timing was right, but never asked to be introduced. A few weeks later, Inana and I went for dinner and learned during dinner that Patrick had a DJing gig at The Broadway in South Boston. After dinner we went to see him DJ, where Patrick and I were introduced. As we spoke, I took a sip of my drink and thought it tasted funny and asked Patrick to try it. Without hesitating he said, "I'm not sure I'll be of help, I can't taste!" As I began to ask about why Patrick couldn't taste, his parents, Paul and Maureen, approached to say goodbye to Patrick. In this same night, I was also introduced to his parents. After his parents left, I remained in the DJ booth, chatting with Patrick in between him focusing on DJing until Inana and I decided to return home for the night. On the ride home I told Inana I was interested in Patrick and wanted to go on a date with him. The following day I had to work a brunch shift and Patrick came to sit at the bar and have brunch (an Inana set up perhaps?). Patrick seemed shy, but I kept pausing to speak with him between customers, thinking he was sure to ask me on a date at any moment. The end of my shift rapidly approached and Patrick had gone to the restroom. I was catching a ride from a friend home and I decided to leave my number on a napkin for Patrick before running out. Patrick texted me the next day where I asked him to go out on a date to a secret concert. We met for dinner before the concert and we were both so nervous we barely ate. We saw a secret concert in a Cambridge venue that was a bagel shop during the day. We heard Whitney Fenimore sing "Feel it too" and that was it for me, I knew I was in love. When Inana asked me how our date went I said "Great! I am going to marry him!". Patrick and I were inseparable from that day forward which has now brought us here!
