Our Story
We first met in 2016 after a concert at UNI. Lydia's friend Aja was there, and after we left, she said, "Oh, he's totally into you."
When he got to campus for the fall semester, Colton looked for Lydia, but couldn't find her. Why? She was in Greece!
When she got back to campus in January 2017, Lydia stopped by the music building lounge, and who was hanging out there, but Colton!
Colton pursued Lydia a couple of times during those first weeks in January, but Lydia, a little nervous, may have ghosted him (sorry, babe!).
After the Tallcorn Jazz Festival in February, we were both out with friends and finally connected -- Colton took one more shot and Lydia said "yes" to a coffee date at Sidecar Coffee the next day.
The rest, as they say, is history. :)
April 2017: Started dating while studying at UNI 🎶
November 2023: Engaged at Gray's Lake Park in Des Moines
July 2025: Married in Des Moines 🤍
