We both went to Gustavus Adolphus College and though we had similar interests in music and even a few mutual friends, we never actually met until we both were out of college. I was in my gap year when I swiped right on a guy who seemed to be my type. When we first met, neither of us were in great shape. I was hungover and he was recovering from the flu. We went to the Minneapolis Institute of Art then got Vietnamese on Eat Street. We got six months together before having to go long distance while I went to Marquette University in Milwaukee. That time taught us communication skills and resilience which have served us well when we finally closed the gap late 2019 and survived a pandemic and getting sick with covid in 2020. We got engaged in December 2020 and opted for a tiny, intimate wedding with family in October 2021. It was perfect. Now that the pandemic is calming down and vaccines exist, we feel comfortable bringing our loved ones we would have wanted at our wedding together for a night to celebrate us and our life together.
