Start at the Cigar factory and pick up a coffee/quick bite at Mercantile and Mash before making the trek across the Ravenel Bridge! Great views of the city and a great workout to walk, jog, or bike. It is about 5 miles round trip! Make sure to bring water, sunscreen, and no fear of heights!
A short drive over the Ravenel Bridge you can find the Pitt Street Bridge! Once a trolley bridge that connected Sullivan's Island and Mount Pleasant, the Pitt Street Bridge is now a perfect place to walk and relax! Hidden in Old Village Historic District it is the perfect place to park and walk around to see cute Charleston houses outside of downtown!
Take a stroll through the Farmer's Market in Marion Square on Saturday morning for coffee and a grab and go breakfast from delicious food trucks! Typically there are a lot of Charleston area vendors and live music to check out as well!
One of the closest beaches to downtown Charleston - just a quick 20 min drive over the Ravenel Bridge, through Mount Pleasant & Shem Creek, and out to Sullivan's Island. Check out Obstinate Daughter, Home Team, and Poe's for some great post beach bites! Beach access is through the stations! Drive farther to the left or the right to find street parking close to the beach!
Another great beach about 30 minutes from downtown Charleston! Go for bigger waves (vs Sullivans and IOP) and a surfer vibe! There can be quite a bit of traffic so plan to get out there early! Make a stop at Bowen's Island on the way back downtown for awesome seafood and great views.
Right over the Ravenel Bridge you can take a tour of Patriot's Point's Naval & Maritime Museum! Highly recommend the Fort Sumter and USS Yorktown Tour Combo if you have the time! You can get more information on tickets below: https://fortsumtertours.com/combos/fort-sumter-tour-uss-yorktown-combo/
This is a bit of a drive from downtown - about 45 minutes, but a great day trip to see how tea is grown, harvested, and produced! Make sure to stop at the gift shop before the trolley ride to take some samples with you on the tour :)
Highly recommend renting bikes and taking a spin around the Holy City! Lots to see and explore and if you only have a weekend why not cover a lot of ground by bike? You can pay as you go or get a day pass for 24 hours of unlimited ride time. This one was recommended by Anna :)
