How We Met

4.19.2019

We first met through two of our mutual friends when I was visiting Syracuse on the weekend of Good Friday in 2019. We were at a brewery with everyone but unfortunately both needed to leave early for family plans. Michael offered me a ride home even though we just had met, and naturally I could not deny his charm! Throughout a 30 minute drive together, we found a few things in common with the most important being that he LOVED Boston, always imagined living there at some point, and I already was doing exactly that. After dropping me off at my parents house, we went our separate ways until I was back home again two months later and saw each other at the Retreat while getting drinks. He happened to be planning a visit to Boston for a Red Sox game with his friends Brad & Max, so we chatted it up and made a plan to meet. He ended up taking a half-day of work on a Friday so he could get out to Boston earlier and we could hang out for the first time...long story short, we had a blast that weekend and the rest was history.

The Real Test

March 2020

Cough - COVID - Cough After dating for a few months, Michael received the puppy dog eyes from myself and Miss Nala for him to move to Boston. I mean, he loves this city (and unfortunately the sports that come with it) so it made perfect sense! Welp, he finally moved in November '19 and a few months later, we all know what happened....COVID-19. We were forced to quarantine and spend time with each other 24/7. What better way to see how compatible we were:).

The Engagement

3.2.2022

Michael and I went to San Diego for one of my work conferences in March. After my last meeting of the trip, we had dinner reservations on the water and planned to stop at the pier and a brewery first. As we were walking along the water I turned to go into the brewery, but Michael quickly made it clear that we needed to take a walk out on the pier instead. I thought it was odd and said "we can see the pier from the brewery", but he insisted. As we ventured out on the long pier together, I found myself walking and talking alone. I turn around to Michael getting down on one knee, taking a ring box out of his pocket to ask me to marry him<3.
