About 2 hours away is Estes Park with a ton of fun things to do in the town. You can check out the Stanley Hotel too! The Rocky Mountain National Park is there as well. with TONS of hiking and exploring options. You can even spill mustard on yourself the wildlife will come right up to you, like this baby deer friend I made when I spilled mustard all on my pants.
Their website explains it best : Denver Milk Market is an all-local, all-wonderful mix of take-away and dine-in restaurants and bars run by Colorado chef Frank Bonanno. Denver Milk Market, a 16-venue cornerstone of the historic Dairy Block, aims to draw in travelers, visitors, neighbors and fans to shop a little, drink a little, eat a little and celebrate a lot in the very heart of the Ballpark Neighborhood here in Denver.
Right across from the hotel is your basic shopping center with stores, restaurants, movie theatre, etc. Hacienda Colorado, MOD pizza, and Snooze AM Eatery are my most frequented stops, as well as the Target and Michaels, obviously..
Golden Co is a beautiful area in general and the Coors Light Tour is awesome. It's $10 and you get free beers after the tour. Be sure to check their website before you visit because they are NOT open every day. After the tour, walk across the street for one of the best burgers you will ever have at Bob's Atomic Burgers.
