Music brings people together in more ways than we know. Michael and Tara met during their time at Elon University while both pursuing degrees in music. Who knew a vocalist and a drummer would be such a goofy and perfect match? Almost ten years later and it's time to tie the knot!

We took a beautiful trip to Chattanooga, TN for the 4th of July weekend. While we planned on going to Ruby Falls that Sunday morning, tickets were sold out until late. We opted to go kayaking instead. Tara is not very good at kayaking, especially when hangry. Afterwards, we went to get lunch and followed up with ice cream from Clumpie's (only because of the name). That was before the storm... We raced back to the car as the rain poured down and drove back to our cabin. We walked in to find the power was out. We didn't sweat it though because we found a cat and made friends with him. Later, Michael realized he didn't have his wallet, so we started searching everywhere for it. We looked in the car and Tara began looking in his backpack and came across a small wooden box... which went right over my head. Michael grabbed the backpack saying, "No no no no, it's not in there." Tara was surprised, but carried on the search. We determined it had been left at the place we had lunch and had to wait until the next day to pick it up. We got ready for dinner in the almost dark and headed back into town. Towards the end of our wonderful dinner, an elderly man fell and hit his head and the whole restaurant was in shock. Luckily Chattanooga is a small town and the EMTs were able to get him out of the restaurant safely. The whole day had been full of mishaps and we were tired, so we headed back to the cabin. The power was still out unfortunately, so we had to use our phone flashlights. That's when Michael started his lil speech and Tara started saying "OH MY GOD OH MY GOD" etc.... He got down on one knee, popped the question, and that was it! Our proposal couldn't have been more perfect and we wouldn't have done it any other way. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Music City!
