We first met at a birthday party for her sister, Stef. I was standing out on the deck with some friends when all of a sudden Tammy jumped out of the bar onto the deck and started whipping her hair around. My friend Dan said, "Tammy is here". Shortly after that he got us talking to each other, and we exchanged phone numbers.
It was my sister's birthday week so we all went out to J&J's Bar in Cadott to celebrate. After a few too many drinks and a mindset to have fun I was just brazen enough to listen to my friend Dan's words when he told me to "dance with his friend Travis." We talked quite a bit after that and I asked for his number. In true Travis fashion, we talked for a days on end before he planned our first date. Then dated for months on end before he asked me to be his girlfriend. Then we were boyfriend and girlfriend for years on end before he asked me to be his wife. But here we are and we couldn't be happier!
Two weeks after meeting, Travis invited Tammy over for a home cooked meal and a movie. She was super nervous but accepted his offer and drove from her apartment in Eau Claire to his in Chippewa Falls. He grilled burgers (even mastered hers just the way she likes) and made fried potatoes smothered in ranch dressing. They sat down to watch "40 Year Old Virgin". A few beers later, and Tammy looked over to find Travis had fallen asleep on the couch. Uhh...red flag much! One of us must be too boring for this first date. Ten years later, turns out that's what makes us so great. We love nothing more than to make burgers on the grill with a side of fried potatoes, lay in bed with a movie that one of us falls asleep to (don't worry, we take turns now.) Our first date is actually the ultimate perfect date night in our house!
