Gruene
Since Hannah and Matthew live 30 minutes from each other, Gruene is always the central meeting location! Our favorite shops include the Gruene General Store and Gruene Antiques. When you get hungry, grab a bite to eat at Gristmill, Adobe Verde, or Gruene River Grill. You can even visit the secluded porch swing area where Matthew proposed, right outside the Gruene Mansion Inn.
Landa Park
In high school, Matthew worked at Landa Park at the paddle boats. During one of those summers, he set up the cutest picnic inside the gates, where the two kayaked on the water. When they would run out of date ideas, Matthew and Hannah would often go on long walks around the walking trails. Filled with hill country wildlife, this spot is a favorite.
Canyon Lake
Canyon Lake has to be one of Matthew's favorite spots in New Braunfels. The two would spend sunny Saturdays driving down River Road with the windows rolled down. You can visit the Canyon Lake Dam, where you can walk along the two-mile strip. Matthew and Hannah love watching the sunset here.
Stars & Stripes Drive-In Theatre
Visit the place Matthew and Hannah had their first date! An outdoor movie is a perfect end to an evening in New Braunfels. Make sure to start your car every 30-45 minutes so that it doesn't die... just like Matthew's did during their first date.
