Jonathan and Rhianna first crossed paths in 2010 while attending the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. The fateful meet-cute happened one random night at a legendary party spot affectionately known as 'Cali & Larkin.' She was rocking red Ray-Bans, and he sported (brace yourself—it was 2010) red shutter shades. Rhianna, ever the social butterfly, confidently approached Jonathan and declared, "Hey, we should take a photo in our matching glasses!" Was it love at first sight? Maybe. Were they inseparable from that moment on? Not quite. Despite their fashionable first meeting, they didn’t speak again until a month later when Rhianna decided to send the photo via Facebook, where Jonathan “liked” the photo but said nothing. Rhianna, less than impressed with that response took matters into her own hands and messaged him, sparking hours of back-and-forth conversation. Plans were made, and while Jonathan was a bit on the shy side, Rhianna’s determination ensured he couldn’t say no. Their connection deepened quickly, and on December 15, 2010, they made their relationship official. Jonathan moved back to New York in 2011 so for the next 3 years they kept their relationship alive despite the long distance. The plan was for Rhianna to move to New York when she graduated college in 2013 but life had other plans and Rhianna wasn’t quite ready to leave San Francisco. They parted ways on bittersweet terms, keeping in touch and cheering each other on from afar. In 2016, Rhianna finally made the leap to New York. There was a brief reunion, but the timing wasn’t right—yet. Fast forward to early 2023, and the tables had turned. This time, Jonathan was the one consistently pursuing Rhianna, who wasn’t entirely sure a second (or third) attempt would change their fate. But love, as it turns out, has a way of winning, and Jonathan’s persistence paid off. Forever was confirmed, and just 1.5 years after reuniting, the couple found themselves on a whirlwind journey. With Jonathan’s Air Force career getting off the ground, a quick engagement and an intimate family ceremony sealed the deal on November 23, 2024. But they knew their story wouldn’t be complete without celebrating with their loved ones. And so, here we are, counting down to September 21, 2025—a day to gather, dance, laugh, and toast to a love story that’s been over a decade in the making. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
