We love heading up here on the weekends to walk around, check out the shops and have lunch. A few of our favorite restaurants are West End Tavern, T/ACO, The Post Chicken & Beer and Foolish Craig's for breakfast. We've also included a few other bars and restaurants linked below.
For anyone who isn't able to make it to the Friday concert, we still recommend checking out Red Rocks while you're here. There are hikes, great photo ops and a cool little museum here. Plan on a few hours to explore and we suggest going early in case there's a concert that evening. You can grab lunch at the venue or in the town of Morrison (5 mins from Red Rocks).
We went on a road trip from Jackson, WY to Boulder, CO in February, 2016 for a long weekend. Jeff previously lived in Boulder but Mel had never been so he took her to his favorites spots. Mel immediately fell in love with the mountain feel, less frigid winter temps and shopping and asked Jeff regularly when they could move from Wyoming to Colorado. Some of these spots include hiking at Chautauqua Park - you can walk around the parking area, have a lunch in front of the Flat Irons or choose from numerous hikes at the park. You can also continue driving past Chautauqua Park on Baseline Road (about 4 miles) to Lost Gulch Overlook for great views that don't require any hiking!
