Above: Sonja Bacadare (✝), aunt of the bride, and Fernando Henrique, uncle of the bride, on their wedding day. Sonja’s nickname for Fabiola was “sobri.” We love her and miss her dearly. Every Christmas, she baked a Tres Leches cake. Fabiola watched her make it during their last Christmas together and has been trying to recreate her recipe ever since.
