We met on January 13th, 2021, before daily mass at our Newman Center. However, we did not instantly click, and a few weeks passed before we talked again after our brief meeting. But on March 4th, we decided to grab coffee together, go for a walk around campus and get to know one another. We talked for a while, shared about our lives, family, and what the Lord was doing in our lives at the time, both of us thinking we would only become good friends afterwards. After a few weeks of getting to know each other, and getting to spend time together in prayer, Steven asked me (Jacqueline) to go on a date, and without hesitation, I said "Yes!" We started dating in April before we went long distance for the summer, and the rest, my friends, is history.
Starring Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock, featuring Betty White (May her soul rest in eternal peace) The real, less dramatic, and no law breaking shenanigans story:... The day was the 14th of January 2022, Steven took me on a very lovely date to Fleming's to celebrate that it had been a year since we met. I got a new dress for the occasion, Steven a new shirt, and we were so excited for our evening out, but I had no idea what was to come. I got ready for the night and began to get butterflies thinking of Steven's soon arrival to pick me up. We arrived at the restaurant, and what I did not know was that everyone working that night knew I was the lucky lady getting proposed to later that evening. So we sat, and shortly after Steven left to "wash his hands," where he went to go grab the ring, an envelope, and book. He returned and said he had a gift for me, handing me the items he had previously gone to get. I read the most beautiful letter ever, and received the gift as Steven got up from his seat, and signaled for me stand up as well. Steven dropped to one knee, and asked me to marry him, and I very excitedly said, "YES!"
