Question

What should I know about booking at the Hampton Inn/Homewood Suites?

Answer

We have provided a block at the Hampton Inn/Homewood Suites on Jefferson. Please visit the Travel and Accommodations tab for the link. The block rate is set ONLY for November 5th, the night of the wedding. Each individual guest must make their own reservations by calling 1-800-445-8667 or via group booking link online BY FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2022. They must identify themselves as members of the Group (Gossen Wedding). All reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card. Check-in time is 4:00 pm; check-out time is 12:00 noon. Early check-in & late check-out are subject to availability and hotel approval.

What should I know about booking at the Hoxton?

Answer

We have provided a code for booking at the Hoxton. Please visit the Travel and Accommodations tab for the link and code. The Hitched code is a discount code that would offer you 10% off their best available rate when booking reservations via the hotel’s official website. As a general rule of thumb, the earlier you book, the better chance you have of 1) receiving a lower rate and 2) having the Hitched rates available to you. Another great thing about the Hitched code is it can be applied to ALL of their room types! (based on availability). This is a quaint boutique hotel and the rooms are on the smaller side, so the maximum number of people in a room is two. Be sure to check out one of the two Stephanie Izzard restaurants or Lazy Bird downstairs. While you're down there, steal Taylor one of their illustrated menus. She's been coveting them since the first time she visited.

Is there parking at the hotels?

Answer

If you're driving in, the Hoxton has valet parking available on property for $70 overnight with in and out privileges. You’ll also find public parking just north of the Hoxton. Metered street parking is hard to come by, but if you’re super lucky you might find street parking on Halsted and on Lake St. (the Hoxton is on the corner of Lake and Green). Hotel parking at the Homewood Suites is available at the prevailing hotel rates. Street parking may also be available here, as well. The hotels are about a 4 minute walk/8 minute drive away from one another.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony? What does transportation and parking look like?

Answer

Please arrive at Salvage One at between 5:00 and 5:15 PM on Saturday, November 5th. Our invitations state that the ceremony is to begin at 5:15 PM, but we have buffered in time to account for traffic if need be! The hotels are about 7-10 minutes away from the venue. Shuttle service will depart promptly from the Homewood Suites at 5:00 PM. Uber/Lyft/taxi service is readily available throughout the area. Free parking is available across the street from the venue.

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Invitations will go out in August 2022. Please RSVP by September 24th as requested, and at the very latest, the first week of October. Please note that if you are staying at the Homewood Suites and are using our block, you must reserve your room by October 7th.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If you see "and guest" on your invitation, then yes! Otherwise, whoever is invited will be directly named on the invitation envelope as well as the digital RSVP.

Are children welcome?

Answer

Unfortunately due to restrictions by the venue, young children will not be extended invitations. We are able to extend the invitation to children above a certain age. Please reach out to us at thegossenwedding@gmail.com with any questions regarding this! We would love to celebrate with your families at a later date!

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We registered the majority of our items through Zola directly, but there is a small registry at Target as well. It is all combined on our Registry tab!

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

When you RSVP, please list any major food allergies. We have provided a vegan option for our entrée, as well.

Can you explain your dress code?

Answer

Festive formal is a wedding way of saying wear something exciting, outlandish, on theme (you pick the theme), extravagant, or maybe instead understated and elegant. Wear a suit with feathers at the cuffs if that makes you happy. Wear a sequin ballgown or a black jumpsuit. Skip the tie and wear a fun pocket square instead. This is a party, and we would love to see you dress like it! So wear what you want, just please don't wear jeans.
