Mount Shavano
For the adrenaline junkies out there, here is a great 14er that showcases beautiful views of the Rockies! Located in the San Isabel National Forest, this is one of Jax and my favorite 14ers! If you are feeling extra crazy, you can do Tabeguache Peak in the same day!
Mount Antero
One of the many amazing (and rewarding hikes) that we have done while being at the cabin. Mount Antero is in the San Isabel National Forest with breathtaking views!
Mount Princeton
Another amazing fourteener in the area that is located in the San Isabel National Forest. You can't go wrong hiking and exploring this spot. The views from the top are absolutely wonderful and will take your breath away.
Buena Vista
Between the Collegiate Peaks and the Arkansas River, Buena Vista is more than worth it to check out! There is plenty of great coffee shops, breweries, ice cream and shopping in downtown BV. There is also some great hidden gems including the hot springs, hiking to Ptarmigan Lake (6 miles round trip), Lost Lake (a little over 3 miles round trip), white water rafting, walking along the Arkansas River trail and more! Who wouldn't want to go to a drive in movie while being surrounded by 14,000ft peaks!

Salida
The perfect small mountain town with the Arkansas River running straight through it, Salida offers great food, coffee, hiking, fishing and more! We highly recommend Sweeties, our favorite sandwich shop in downtown Salida that offers over 60 options! The Boathouse Cantina allows for lunch or dinner right along the river! Pizza Rio serves the best New-York-Style thin crust pizza with some crazy topping combinations and lots of fun cocktails to try! Try out one of our favorite breweries & bites while you're at it, Elevation Beer Company, Soulcraft Brewing (make sure to try their green chili beer if you are up for it!), Moonlight Pizza and Brew Pub, Amicas Pizza, Poncha Pub and many more! If you aren't full yet, try out our favorite ice cream spot, Chill Salida (the salted peanut butter cup is a must try), you won't go wrong with any of their flavors!
