We’re getting married (!!!) and can’t imagine doing it without the people we love most by our side. This weekend isn’t just about the two of us. It’s a celebration of all the support, laughter, and love you’ve given us along the way. We can’t wait to mark this moment together with ocean views, good food, and even better company. Love, Henry & Karen
It was the last Sunday before the start of the 2023–2024 school year. Suddenly, my iPhone notification went off telling me I had a date scheduled in an hour. I'm not going to lie, the thought "Should I go, I have school tomorrow" went through my head, but I am ever thankful that I did not listen to it. We had a wonderful date where we went for a hike in one of the local state forests with hours of talking over drinks afterwards. It was hands down one of the top three dates I have ever been on. (The other top two happened to be the following two dates.) This was the start of something magical. Now, here we are two years and change later, and the magic is still flowing.
Our first date almost didn’t happen. Both of us were secretly thinking of canceling. I was the one who suggested an early morning hike (yes, I’m that person), but when the day rolled around, I was tired and strongly considering staying in bed. Henry was gearing up for the start of the school year and almost bailed, too. Thankfully, neither of us did. From the moment we started walking and talking, something just clicked. You know that feeling when someone seems to share your brain? It was like that. What was supposed to be a one-hour hike turned into a three-hour lunch, and then one date became many. I actually proposed to him first. Three times, in fact—once with tin foil rings. But he kept insisting he wanted to “do it right,” and he did: on a sunny weekend in Nantucket, he asked me to marry him. And I said yes. For real, this time.
