Things To Do

There are so many things to do in NOLA! From the history of the city itself, to museums, shopping, architecture, to the FOOD! It is one of our favorite places to visit (why else would we be getting married here?!) Below are some links to fun and interesting things to do!

Tree of Life

398 Exposition Boulevard, New Orleans, Louisiana 70118
, +1 504-212-5301

Completely free! We love walking through this park in general, but the Tree of Life is really amazing to see!

Riverwalk

Poydras Station, New Orleans, Louisiana 70130

There is so much to do just around the riverside. The link provided gives tours, day/evening cruises, shops, and amazing food!

The National WWII Museum

945 Magazine Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70130
, +1 504-528-1944

Prepare to be here for a few hours at the very least, it is such an amazing place!

Café Du Monde

800 Decatur St, New Orleans, Louisiana 70116
, +1 800-772-2927

Jackson Square

701 Decatur Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70116
, +1 504-658-3200

This is in the heart of the city, a few miles from our venue, and extremely walkable. There are so many shops to go in and out of, and amazing food surrounding the square.

The Delachaise Wine Bar

3442 Saint Charles Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana 70115
, +1 504-895-0858

Just go. It's too amazing not to. It's close to the St. Charles Trolley. The lamb burger is SO GOOD!

The New Orleans Pharmacy Museum

514 Chartres Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70130

We would have LOVED to have had our wedding here! (too many working parts to make it work)... I have too many things to say about this place. It's fascinating, and the courtyard is absolutely beautiful. There are alot of stairs, but makes it that much better for views of that courtyard.

Tacos & Beer

1622 Saint Charles Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana 70130
, +1 504-304-8722

We ate here more than once. The food is amazing and the margaritas are some of the best we've had.

Magazine Street

Magazine at Milan, New Orleans, Louisiana 70115

Start at one end, and walk to the other, stopping in-between at the restaurants, bars, and shops.

SAFFRON NOLA

4128 Magazine Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70115
, +1 504-323-2626

It's fancy, and the food is pretty great... Honestly, we went for the cocktails.

Commander's Palace

1403 Washington Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana 70130
, +1 504-899-8221

We passed by, never actually went... BUT it is a highly recommended place! They have a dress code, and require online reservations. Keep in mind you should reserve a space a few weeks (or months) a head of your visit. Dress Code: Business Attire Jackets are preferred for gentlemen Collared shirts and closed-toed shoes required for gentlemen No shorts, flip-flops, t-shirts, sweat shirts or sweat pants Jeans are discouraged; ripped jeans are not allowed

St. Louis Cemetery no. 1

425 Basin Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70112

There are SOOO many more cemetery tours you can take other than this one. We meandered through others that weren't guided while we just randomly found walking through the city. However, if you want to see the tomb of Marie Laveu, you'll have to pay for tickets and the guided tour. In the same tour you get to see Nicholas Cage's pyramid.

Preservation Hall

3310 Saint Peter Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70119

A historic, active music venue. Right off Bourbon Street, and fun to check a show out on a night that's not our wedding night 😉.

For all the days along the way
