We met at the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and it made sense that our paths didn't cross for years because I was always partying and he was either hunting or growing in his career. Bill's humble presence and witty personality quickly caught my eye. We started seeing each other more often, but I was headed to study abroad in Australia and I knew that if he was waiting for me when I got back then I would give him a chance. Shortly after returning, Bill bought us Vikings tickets over my birthday weekend and we began dating!
It was a sunny February day and we had plans to grab dinner with Niki and Joe Sampair in Stillwater! The night before, Bill told me he wanted to go down there about an hour before to have some drinks with just the two of us. For a guy who flies by the seat of his pants, I thought it was weird that he had such a specific time to go down there. I jokingly said, "Why, you going to propose?" He immediately shut that one down and I didn't even think twice about it. February 27th, 2021 - We went down to Stillwater to grab drinks and Bill wanted to walk down towards the river. I was freezing and just wanted to get to the bar but I decided to just roll with it. Shortly after, Bill got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! He had our sweet friend, Whitney Lubeley, hide to take pictures of our proposal and I'm so thankful she captured our special moment. After the proposal, Bill surprised me by hosting a party with all of our close friends and family. We celebrated with live music, delicious food, and LOTS of drinks. It was truly the most thoughtful and perfect day!
