This is a Devon Philly favorite! The Magic Gardens is a folk art environment and gallery space on South Street. To date, it is the largest work created by mosaic artist Isaiah Zagar. The Magic Gardens spans three city lots, and includes indoor galleries and a large outdoor labyrinth. We recommend buying tickets in advance as it does book up.
Grab a beer at the most famous bar- McGillin’s Olde Ale House, which threw open its doors the year Lincoln was elected president. That’s shortly after the Liberty Bell cracked and long before ground was broken for Philadelphia City Hall. The beer taps have been flowing since 1860 — making it the oldest continuously operating tavern in Philadelphia and one of the oldest taverns in the country.
The Art Museum, which has been around since 1876, is the main fixture of our Fairmount neighborhood boasting its famed entry staircase featuring Renaissance classics and ever rotating special exhibits. Additionally, the iconic Rocky statue is right out front of the museum so you can cross both attractions off in one visit.
