We lived around the corner from each other and didn't know it until we matched on Bumble, the dating app. We found out we were both recruiters and had to meet. From meeting at a closed restaurant to a finger mysteriously slammed in a door, it was a memorable first date.
We had both taken every Friday off work in November to use up our holiday time. We decided that particular Friday, we would do a picnic, as we had done before in Cyberport. So we packed up our Uno (our favorite card game) a bottle of Rose, a sausage roll, some sweets and off we went. As both competitive people, David had set up the idea to quiz each other with questions such as Who do you think my celebrity crush is, or Where do you think my favorite place to travel is? Sonia then won the quiz, but David asked for one more question, double or nothing. David presented a Haribo ring (gummy for Americans) and asked Will you marry me? After a nervous (and awkward) laugh from Sonia as she thought he was joking, he pulled out the perfect ring and asked again Will you marry me now? After a resounding yes, and lots of tears, we spent the weekend at the Cordis that David had booked as a surprise.
