Our journey began at Upland High School during our senior year in 2014. It was the first day of school, and the air was filled with a mix of excitement and apprehension. We both found ourselves in the same Economy class, feeling the weight of the unknown as we embarked on this new chapter. As the teacher instructed us to find our seats, Patrick chose a spot in the second row, while Taylor settled directly in front of him. Seizing the moment, Patrick leaned forward and asked, "Hey! Are you new to the school? What's your name?" This wasn't just a casual question; Patrick had already decided to make his move. Before Taylor could respond, a classmate chimed in, "That's Taylor Markowich, she's been here since junior year, dumba**!" The room erupted in laughter, and Taylor joined in, sharing a knowing smile with Patrick.
