How We Met

Early 2012

We met through mutual friends in the Winter of 2012 during a night out in NYC and truthfully didn't think much of our encounter. We'd see each other out here and there but didn't spend much, if any, one on one time together since we were always surrounded by our large group of friends. As Summer kicked off, we started seeing each other more often. Eventually, we exchanged numbers and began building a friendship. Neither of us was looking for anything more than friendship at the time but we both found it so easy to talk to one another.

Our First Date

9.20.2012

After becoming friends and getting to know each other over a few months, Tim asked me if I wanted to grab dinner Thursday night before going out with some friends. We were supposed to go to Tao, a dinner I had been looking forward to, but on the morning of, Tim texted me saying he "forgot" the NY Giants were playing. As a die-hard fan, he said he couldn't miss the game and we could do Tao for dinner next time. Having grown up around sports and working at a sports agency, I somehow understood. Since we were going out in the Meatpacking District later that night, we tried to eat at a few casual bars/restaurants in the area. By no surprise, every place was jam-packed for the game. We ended up settling for The Diner, a classic New York spot. I'll never forget the next moment. I asked Tim if he wanted to share mac and cheese balls and his response was "I don't like cheese but order whatever you want." Excuse me? You don't like cheese? Who doesn't like cheese? After that, I thought the date wasn't going anywhere...

The Proposal

8.28.2018

We embarked on a two-week vacation through Italy and Greece, a trip we'd been looking forward to for months. During our drive from Naples to Positano, Tim suggested we catch the sunset on the beach before dinner that evening. There’s nothing I love more than a good sunset so I was pleasantly surprised to hear he was thinking ahead! After the most perfect day on the beach, Tim told me we needed to leave the hotel around 6:00 pm to catch the best part of the sunset. I’m normally on time, if not early, however, after a long day of traveling and soaking up the sun, I was moving a bit slower than normal. When 6:00 pm rolled around, Tim said we should be walking out the door. The sun was still shining so I told him not to worry, we had plenty of time (whoops!). We left the hotel around 6:30 pm and as we’re walking down the stairs to the beach, I realized the sun wasn't going to set in Positano. The sun was going to set in Sorrento. Tim acted surprised when I told him this and claimed he read the sunset in Positano is beautiful. Not thinking anything of it, I agreed. When we got to the beach, Tim recommended we take a photo in front of the beautiful colored houses while the sun was still out. If you know me, you know I'll never pass up a good photo opportunity! We made our way over to a good spot, snapped a couple of photos together and before I knew it, Tim was down on one knee saying “this is the real reason why we’re here.” I froze. Literally. After asking me to marry him a second time (since I was daydreaming the first time), I screamed "YES!" and reached for that ring! Our incredible Flytograper, Andrea (who was worried we weren't going to show), came out of hiding after Tim put the ring on my finger. Between the proposal happening so quickly and Tim hiring a photographer, I was in complete shock. Nearly six years in the making and our fairytale proposal became real life! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Napa!
