Sush and Joey first met and began dating in September 2019. They knew they had found something special when their second date involved a trip to Target to buy an AC for Joey's apartment and a trip to Best Buy to fix Sush's laptop. Both Sush and Joey immediately felt a sense of connection from the moment they met, and easily fell in love with each other over several dates to restaurants, coffee shops, and Target (of course). According to Sush, she knew she loved him when early in their relationship, Joey brought her chocolate chip cookies on a bad day without her ever having to ask him for them. According to Joey, he knew he loved her very early on; there was no specific moment as he says, "I've always loved her." Joey and Sush had dated for six months when the world changed and a pandemic was declared. They had been dating "medium distance" while Sush was completing her doctorate in clinical psychology in Indiana, PA and Joey worked for UPS in Pittsburgh, PA-- an hour and fifteen minutes away. However, they never minded the long drives each weekend to see each other! During the pandemic, they enjoyed building pillow forts, watching (and rewatching) their favorite TV shows and movies, cooking together, working remotely side-by-side, taking walks outside, and generally eating copious amounts of Indian and Italian food. In 2021, Sush moved even further away to Canton, OH for her internship-- about two and a half hours away. But this was no hindrance to Joey and Sush who alternated weekends driving between Canton and Pittsburgh, spending date nights playing board games, going to breweries and vineyards, and taking turns hanging out with each others' friends. In 2022, Sush (finally) graduated and moved back to Pittsburgh to begin her new job at AHN and Joey began his new job at Honeywell. On September 9th, two days after their 3 year anniversary, Joey got on one knee and proposed to Sush, and of course she said YES!
