I technically met Danielle when we were four years old at Beth El Day Camp in New Rochelle. We ran around the same playground and played the same games -- completely unaware that we’d cross paths again years later. Fast forward to our senior year at Indiana University -- 800 miles from home -- when we actually met (again). Even though we grew up just ten minutes apart, it wasn’t until senior year of college that we really got to know each other. At the time of the wedding, we’ll be just one month away from celebrating nine years together. And yes, NINE. But before anyone says anything, let’s be clear: Danielle was the one who wanted to “take things slow.” I’ve been ready!
Michael loves to say we met when we were four at Beth El Day Camp. If that’s true, I must have been very focused on arts and crafts -- because I have absolutely no memory of him. Fast forward to today, and after nearly a decade together, we’ve shared a lot: a year of long-distance while I taught English in Israel, living apart during early COVID (I was at my dad’s, Michael in his sister’s Long Island basement), and eventually taking a leap and heading west. We landed in San Diego “just for a month”… and stayed six. Four months in Carlsbad, a few in L.A., and eventually we settled into full-time West Coast life. Somewhere between beach days, hikes, and long drives up the coast, we fell in love with California. That’s why we’re so excited to bring all our favorite people to San Diego -- the place where our West Coast adventure began -- to celebrate the next chapter: getting married!
