We had our first date at-home after the lockdown started in March 2020. We knew from the beginning that we were meant to be together forever, and officially started dating on July 2, 2020.
This past summer we took a trip to Ireland for my work. After finishing work-related duties, we visited around Ireland for a bit. We got engaged under the yew tree at Muckross Abbey in Killarney National Park. The yew tree symbolizes rebirth in Celtic culture, so Tyler planned to propose there, since we would be making the decision to die as individuals and be rebirthed together as one. When we were in front of the tree together for a picture, Tyler got down on one knee and asked me to be his forever! I started crying and a little kid nearby goes “Mommy, is she dying?” And Tyler was so nervous he put the ring on the wrong finger after I said yes! It was very quirky but very us, and the most special moment in every way!
