I was out celebrating my bridesmaid Syl's birthday while Nathan was out with his best man Jeremy in Hobart. Nathan was convinced to head out to Saint John at midnight when he heard there were single girls hanging out, even though he had to wake up at 6 AM for a golf tournament. Nathan remembers me dancing in my chair to Sam Smith's song "Omen" - living my best life. I remember Nathan leaning over the table making eye contact as we laughed and shared stories. At the end of the night, Nathan asked his friend who I was. He friended me on Facebook the next morning, and our relationship began. A few months later, Nathan and I were reminiscing on that first night we met. He admitted asking about me when we left the bar and jokingly stating, "I think I'm in love!"

The highly anticipated but completely unexpected proposal took place the morning we purchased our first home. While Stefanie was nervously signing papers for our new home, I was nervous making sure the engagement ring was still in my pocket. After leaving the title company with the keys to our new house, I had to convince the hungry Stefanie that we should go see our new house before anything else. Completely surprised, Stefanie found roses and a hand-written letter on the counter when entering the house. Time was standing still while Stefanie was reading the letter until the shocking ending of the letter stated, "I have been trying to think of a way to make buying this house together even better than it already is, and the only way I can think to do so is to move in with my fiancé instead of my girlfriend." Nothing but happy tears followed while there was nowhere to sit or any tissues to wipe away the tears in the completely empty house. The reaction after reading the last line of the letter was priceless and something neither of us will ever forget.
