Once upon a time, in Louisville, KY, there was a guy named Nathan. He was a pretty spiritually focused young man that was enjoying his first year of pioneering. Meanwhile, in Leitchfield, KY, Brianna was going about her way and minding her own business. She was focused on getting her time for the year and finding new ways to increase her service to Jehovah. One day while engaged in his duties at the Kingdom Hall, Nathan's eye fell on the daughter of a visiting speaker from the Elizabethtown Congregation. "Who is this girl?," he wondered. Low and behold, his service group had hospitality that day. What an opportunity to get to find out who she is! During the dinner, Brianna's father would later exclaim, "You are the brother with the hats!" Wouldn't you know it, a month later, Nathan's father was the visiting speaker TO the Elizabethtown Congregation! This was Nathan's opportunity to see Brianna again! He must make sure he has on his most dapper hat! The brown one, the top hat! Yes! That one is most impressive. Little did he know... Brianna couldn't have cared less if he even existed. Especially with that hat! Goodness - the hats!! Time passed on and the boy and the girl would cross paths at the circuit assembly. Nathan didn't know how he could get to know Brianna. He was the last thing on her mind. Poor Nathan.

Life has a funny way of making things turn out... Pioneer Service School proved to be a pivotal point in the relationship. Well, the potential of a relationship. On the first day of class, Nathan was smitten with the presence of Brianna in the class. Thankfully, the seating arrangement made it possible for Nathan to stay focused during class. This PSS proved to be a week of getting to know the spiritual sides of the class participants. Nathan even spent time with Jimmie (Brianna's father) during the breaks. Mostly he noted Brianna's spiritual qualities and comments during the class. On the last day of class, Brianna had a conversation with Monique (Nathan's mother) and expressed her appreciation for her comments on the difficulties and joy of pioneering. They walked to the car and had a lively chat. Little did they know that Nathan, walking a few feet behind them was in earshot of the conversation. When Nathan reached the car. He and his mother had a brief discussion about how sweet Brianna was. Nathan looked his mother square in the eyes, nodded yes and said - "That's the girl that I'm going to marry."
