What airport should I fly into?

Answer

We recommend flying into LIR - Daniel Oduber International Airport. Mangroove Resort is approximately 30 minutes from Liberia International Airport (LIR) with more than 20 airlines servicing this airport.

How do I get to the airport from the hotel?

Answer

We negotiated a great rate with Guanacaste InfoCenter for our airport shuttles, if you are interested in using their services please fill out the following information. https://forms.gle/ES98T1Gk2Vh37AUK7 Ubers are approximately $25 to El Mangroove but it may take a long time to get a ride.

When should I book my room by?

Answer

Please book your rooms asap, after that we cannot guarantee rooms or rates. If you would like any of other the larger suites not on the current room block, please reach out to Smita Patel 303-717-1249 as we can get those rooms at a discounted rate and get them added to block as needed.

How long is the discounted hotel rate valid for?

Answer

The discounted hotel rate is valid 3 days prior to the wedding day and 3 days after.

There are no rooms available at El Mangroove where else can I stay?

Answer

There are plenty of hotels or Airbnbs nearby. A few guests are staying CC Beach Front Papagayo All Inclusive which is right next door to El Mangroove.

Can I stay outside of the El Mangroove hotel?

Answer

Our preference is for you to stay at the hotel, however it is optional. Please note guests staying outside of the hotel are responsible for their own transportation.

Are you registered?

Answer

We do not have a registry, your presence at our wedding is more than we could ask for.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Answer

Yes! We would love for you to take photos and share them. However, please do not obstruct the photographer and videographer, let them get the best angles.

What will the weather be like?

March in Guanacaste is warm and dry with an average high temperature of 95°F/35°C and average low of 70°F/21°C.

What travel documents are needed to visit Costa Rica?

Answer

-A passport valid for at least three months after arrival date to Costa Rica. - U.S. citizens do not need a Visa for Costa Rica - A return ticket back home or to another country is required upon entry. The length of visa-free stay is up to 90 days

Do I need to exchange my money?

Answer

No, Costa Rica accepts and uses the American dollar as currency. However, you may be given change in Costa Rican colones and will want to exchange or use them up before coming back to the US.

Should I notify my bank?

We suggest letting your bank know that you will be traveling abroad so you can use your cards without being flagged while in Costa Rica.

Costa Rica observes Central Standard Time (CST) all year. There are no daylight savings time changes.

Is the water safe to drink at the hotel or should we order bottle water ?

Answer

The hotel is safe to drink. They also have filter water stations in all the buildings where you can fill up your bottles.

What is the tipping policy in Costa Rica ?

Answer

All restaurants and hotel add a 10% service fee to your bill. El Mangroove charges $5.00 per room per day as a service fee for housekeeping and for waiters. El Mangroove charges $8.00 per round trip per person bellman gratuities/service charge. You are always welcome to add additional tip if you have received exception service.
