It was love at first tailgate. Conner was enticed by a mutual friend with the prospect of free food and beer. Morgan was celebrating her brothers' 21st birthday party at a family tailgate. As our foreign friends would tell us regularly, it was "such an american way to meet." The classic love tale of food, beer, and football. After deciding to take it slow, we did just the opposite, almost immediately. Conner soon came to Springfield with friends to "get out of Columbia," and this is where we went on our first date to Mudhouse. Every Friday from then on was spent driving, or riding the Grey Hound in Conner's case, from Columbia to Springfield or Springfield to Columbia just to spend Saturday and Sunday at Mudhouse or Gunter Hans. On Monday around 4 AM, we would part to make it to work or class that morning. Fast forward 6 months and we were then on a 6 week backpacking trip around Europe (so slow...). After 2.5 years of traveling back and forth, Conner graduated and moved to Springfield. That summer was spent driving through the west on a 2 month road trip. A year, and 200 Mudhouse dates later we decided to quit our stable jobs to see more of the world. The next 6 months were spent blissfully jungle trekking, food sampling, and floor sleeping throughout Southeast Asia, India, and Europe. And then, yet again, we found ourselves at Mudhouse; this time turned out to be a little bit different than the others. It was this time that there was a surprise in the all too famous Lavender Latte. After a walk to a closed Mother's Brewery parking lot, the surprise revealed itself, Conner asked the big question, and Morgan said, "yes." We are excited to share this wonderful time with everyone and look forward to celebrating with you all in August 2018!
