We spent ten months iterating over how we would 'tie the knot.' Every idea had its down sides. A destination wedding would drastically limit the number of guests and drive up the costs of participation. But it would be so beautiful. On the other hand, a larger DC wedding threatened to be terribly expensive, and not quite as exciting. Upon extended reflection, we learned what is most important to us is having an intimate ceremony, reducing costs for ourselves and our guests, and having inclusive celebrations with our full communities. So an idea was born: the World Tour. The four stops are Belize, Washington D.C., New York City, and St. Louis, Missouri. We are going to meet the people where they are, and have a damn good time. We hope to see you soon and can't wait to celebrate with you ;)
Simone and Jahvonta met at a mutual friend's brunch in Washington D.C. on April 24, 2022. They went on their first date four days later. Despite Jahvonta's best efforts to 'wine and dine,' Simone declined his invitation to go on a second date. Over the next several weeks, he wooed her. Finally, she agreed to attend his birthday party. They've been inseparable ever since then!
