You will need to purchase a metro card and add money to the card prior to using the metro system. You can do this at any metro station. Attendants are available at all stations to assist and answer any questions you may have.
It is similar to Missouri. The weather in DC in September can be variable. We suggest bringing a range of clothes and layers so that you are comfortable. As it rains frequently in the fall, don't forget an umbrella!
We suggest taking an Uber or taxi from the ceremony. There is not a metro stop close by. Once in Alexandria, you can take the free King Street Trolley down to the waterfront. If you will need help with transportation, please let us know in advance so arrangements can be made.
