Bocawina Rainforest Resort
Located in Mayflower Bocawina National Park, Belize’s longest zipline, 5 different waterfalls (where you can waterfall rappel) and many unexcavated Mayan ruins are ready and waiting to greet you. The zipline course is 2.5 miles long with the longest run being 2,300 feet. While you’re zipping through the trees, you’ll notice the park is a superb place for bird watching as well—and home to over 200 specifies of birds. Hiking tours (both day and night) are also available.
Bunches of Fun Banana Farm Tours
Just minutes away from Placencia, Sagitun Farm, is the perfect place to discover how bananas grow and what it takes to keep them thriving. Tours include a delicious sampling of fried bananas.
Actun Tunichil Muknal Caves (ATM Caves)
The caves, near San Ignacio in the Cayo District, are a notable Mayan burial site and archaeological site featuring skeletons, ceramics and stoneware. Hiking tours are available, departing the Caves Branch Jungle lodge.
Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary
This sanctuary is the world’s first jaguar preserve, a great location for river tubing and somewhere you can swim in beautiful cascading waterfalls. You’ll also find nature trails for hiking and a wide variety of wildlife to observe.
Laughing Bird Caye National Park
Eleven miles off the coast of Placencia, this mini atoll is a favorite stopover for reef kayakers and an ideal location for snorkeling or diving. Day trips to the atoll can be arranged from Placencia.
Monkey River Village
In Belize’s Toledo District, Monkey River Village is home to an abundant variety of birds (perfect for bird watchers), Howler monkeys, iguanas, crocodiles and more along the banks of a mangrove-lined river. A variety of river tours and expeditions are available.
Mayan Temples
The Toledo District of Belize has a few Mayan temples you can visit like Nim Li Punit and Lubantuun or head to Western Belize to see Xunantunich and Cahal Pech.

Tutti Frutti Gelateria serves up a constantly changing variety of flavors. It's ridiculously delicious. They have rare flavors like provence lavender and soursop (my favorite), to the most refreshing mint chocolate chip.
