Shanelle & Fred met because of Fred's cousin, and Shanelle's friend, Eris. Before heading out for a night of fun, Shanelle tagged along with Eris to pay her condolences to Fred for the passing of his beloved grandmother, Jessie Mae. Unbeknown to Fred, Shanelle was checking him out and a few days later they linked up. Six months into their relationship, Shanelle was diagnosed with cancer for the second time, and Fred moved in to take care of her. Cooking soup, back and forth to chemo and standing by Shanelle during her health battles was a living example of "sickness and health." A few years later, Shanelle returned the favor by taking care of Fred as he faced his own health difficulties. Fred keeps Shanelle grounded, and brings out her silliness while Shanelle has Fred accomplishing things he didn't even know he was capable of (like women of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated do!). #MarryADelta 8 years later and inseparable, they are looking forward to exchanging wedding vows in front of Fred's wonderful kids MiKayla and Zion, other family and friends but most importantly before God in Perrysburg, Ohio!

Coming off a cruise to the Bahamas, Shanelle just wanted to celebrate her birthday like she normally does, with dinner and friends...at the last minute. That Wednesday of her birthday weekend, Shanelle and Fred invited people out to celebrate at Clifton Wine Bar in Cleveland. Fred decided to just have dinner with the two of them at Don’s Lighthouse. His plan was to propose at the wine bar but while Shanelle was in the ladies’ room, he had a chat with himself and decided to make his move! After arriving back at the table, Fred commented on Shanelle’s new bracelets, mentioning they needed a new accessory. That’s when it happen, Fred slid down on one knee, confessed his love and popped the question! Clearly, Shanelle said “yes!”
