They met, like many modern couples, on the internet. Ryan saw that Shaina was a nanny, and said he had just been hanging out with his little cousin Jack and he loved kids. That got her attention! He managed to convince her to go further by wooing her with his sharp wit and charm. Their first date was at Boston Market, because Shaina had a coupon. This started a tradition of going to Boston Market almost every month for over four years, hence the food for the wedding! They have gone through many moves together, most importantly moving together to West Springfield, MA in 2015 so that Ryan could pursue a career at LEGO. Just over eight months after moving, they adopted Finley, the best pupper in the world! Finally, in October 2017, Ryan decided that it was about time to put a ring on it. He proposed in Times Square, on a secluded bench that was quiet aside from a lady trying to convince people to become Born Again on the sidewalk nearby.
Since she first started thinking seriously about a wedding, Shaina imagined the McLaughlin's backyard as the perfect place. She is so happy that Judy and Michael embraced the idea and are helping out so much!
