For those that don't know we had a romcom introduction for a first encounter. We met on the literal first day of college. Grouped together in EKU freshman orientation, suffering through the blazing August heat while we were hiked around campus by a overly eager guide. Funny thing was we never spoke. We were forced into having a group chat to gain information, and Shyann thought 1 person was really funny in it, but never knew the face that went with the screen saver. Fast forward to the first class on the very first day and a familiar face was the saving grace of the looming lecture hall that held History of American Popular Music. We began sitting next to each other, chatting, and eventually we started eating breakfast together any time Sean didn't have Appalachian Studies immediately following. The semester went on, Shyann learned she was talking to the funny guy, and they became friends, but eventually Christmas came and went, a new semester started and with that came no more breakfast chats or corresponding classes. Luckily Sean had no car and a late astronomy class that brought the 2 back together for weekly Thursday dinners. The following summer we texted constantly, Sean being in Michigan meant no real ability to hangout. (Thanks Papa Jim lol) The following fall we began dating, and the rest you can say is history. We now have been together 5 years, traveled the country, moved away from the little hometown Shyann never expected to leave, adopted our Fred, and as of recent bought a house! As an aside I, Shyann, never expected to meet the love of my life the first day of college, but if I can thank EKU for 1 thing it's my bean. Either way we are so excited for the rest of what life holds, and can't explain how much we will cherish the coming memories with each of you. Thank you for joining us on the next part of our journey.
