Costa Rica has two international airports. San Jose (SJO) is in the capital. All major airlines service to this airport. We recommend flying into SJO. Ground and air transportation is cheaper and more available from SJO to our area. *From here, you will need to book transportation to get to Santa Teresa. Please see our options below*

Flight

Option #1: Puddle Jumper Flight to Cobano Airport (ACO)

After you land in San José (SJO) or Liberia (LIR), you can book a puddle jumper flight to get to the Cobano Airport (ACO). The flight time from SJO or LIR to ACO is approximately 30–40 minutes. Local airlines Costa Rica Green Airways and Sansa offer daily flights to/from Cobano, with set schedules and strict baggage weight limits—so be sure to review those details when planning. The latest departure for puddle jumper flights is around 5pm, so we recommend booking international flights that land before 2–3pm to allow enough time for customs, changing terminals, and re-checking bags. From the Cobano Airport, you’ll need to take a taxi to Santa Teresa (about 25 minutes). - Fly Sansa flies from both Liberia (LIR) and San José (SJO) to Cobano (ACO) - Costa Rica Green Airways flies from San José (SJO) to Cobano (ACO) Average cost: Puddle jumper flights typically range from $130–$180 one way, though prices can vary based on season, baggage, and time of booking. Option #2: Airport Transportation / Shuttle to Santa Teresa

Shuttles are a good option for small groups. We recommend Tropical Tours for shuttles. They have daily departures from both San Jose and Liberia per person, and the drive takes 5-6 hours. Flight

Option #3: Charter Flight to Cobano Airport (ACO)

Charter flights are private planes from 2 - 20 people. They depart according to your international flight arrival into SJO or LIR. Once you have landed at the Cobano airport (ACO) it is a 15-20 minute drive to Santa Teresa via rental car or taxi/shuttle. Average cost: Private air charters are around $130+ per person (TBD). Hotel Tropico Latino

House of Somos is a trendy hotel and hostel just a 2-minute walk from the beach, offering a variety of accommodation options. Known for its vibrant atmosphere, Somos is one of the town’s hotspots—featuring live music, house music dance parties, and a lively restaurant. Guests can choose between private rooms or a more social dorm-style setup—both are excellent options! It's located in a fantastic part of town, ideal for those looking to immerse themselves in the local scene. Room rates range from $265 to $380 per night, and our wedding hotel block with discounted rates is available for February 17th–22nd. Airbnb / Rental Options

For couples and larger groups, Airbnb and house rentals are an excellent option—Santa Teresa has a wide variety of beautiful properties, and we’ve found places for 2–3 people starting at $88 USD per night. Many homes offer pools, ocean views, and open layouts perfect for gathering together. Important: Even if you find a rental on your own, please contact our Travel Coordinator, Will Dove, before booking. Will has local contacts and access to off-market properties that may not be listed online—and he may secure a better rate or suggest alternatives that fit your needs. Hotel Nantipa

If you’re looking for a high-end, luxury experience, Hotel Nantipa in Santa Teresa is a fantastic option. Please note that we will NOT have a reserved room block or special rates at this hotel. This boutique beachfront hotel offers a serene escape with lush tropical surroundings and direct access to pristine beaches. Accommodations include private bungalows and suites, each designed to provide comfort and exclusivity. Hotel Nantipa features an open-air beachfront restaurant, a wellness center, and proximity to world-class surfing spots, making it perfect for a luxurious getaway.
