After a long and arduous search on the world's premier dating app, Tinder, (JK - it was 2016 and Hinge wasn't available yet. Also it was NOT a long and arduous search - perhaps they were both casually looking...) Sarah and Matt connected over a shared love of metal. They don't mean the head-banging type, but rather that they connected over their shared love of hitting things made of steel, iron, and non-ferrous items (this would be Sarah, who was hitting silver, brass, bronze, copper, and occasionally the expensive gold things). Matt, who was hitting steel, was also banging his head to the aforementioned metal music. Sarah did not appreciate this. After a whirlwind Tinder-sponsored romance, Matt and Sarah made the questionable decision to move in together after just a few months of real dating. The rest, they say, is history.
A few months into casually seeing each other, Matt came home after work one day and gave Sarah a cherry blossom that he had picked up on his walk back to his apartment. "It made me think of you," he said to Sarah, and she gently accepted the flower and smiled. He then immediately made a face and followed up the previous sentence with, "DON'T READ TOO MUCH INTO IT." Since then, the springtime cherry blossoms have held special significance in both their hearts. On one Sunday in mid-April 2023, Matt took Sarah to the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens to view the blooming blossoms at the Cherry Esplanade. As they made their way through the Japanese Garden, Matt proposed to Sarah. See you all soon!
