We met at a Marist College Men's Rowing team's annual Halloween party. Dan was dressed as Larry Enticer and Sara was dressed as an Army girl!

Dan took Sara to get ice cream (of course) at Stewart's and they enjoyed their dessert at the Marist Boathouse, watching the sunset. Once Dan realized Sara hadn't eaten dinner after attending class all day and work following that, he took her to a local diner and ordered a tunafish sandwich. Sara thought the date had gone horribly, as she was sure after the tuna sandwich there would be no kiss before the end of the date.

Sara was finishing senior year and Dan had just completed Engineer Basic Officer Leader's Course and had orders to Fort Wainwright, Alaska. The couple made the 4,000 mile drive North, and they began their life in North Pole, Alaska.

Dan proposed at the Conrad Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
