April 14th, 2018 marks the day when the stars and planets aligned for these two lovebirds, and most importantly: their hearts. On that Saturday evening, Danny demanded Katy to iron his shirt. Of course, she refused. After not complying with such an easy ask, Danny insisted on letting Katy be the hero to his story, or he would simply turn to another friend for assistance. Either way, someone would meet his demand, and he would win. After refusing adamantly to iron his shirt, and one starstruck conversation later, without even knowing it- They had started what ultimately leads us all here, because when he walked out the room, she said she was going to marry him one day. Nonetheless, this love story continued to flourish shortly after Danny and Katy's first date- One that seemed so magical and straight out of Disney. Once upon a time, it was a beautiful sunny and summery day in Dyckman. Katy decided to make the first move, and take Danny on their first date to the most enchanted place in that kingdom: Cachapas. Everything was going perfect. The cars were honking, the Dominican men were active, Some women walking around in Tubis, Zacarias Ferreira was bumping- it was simply a beautiful NYC night all while Kathleen destroyed her palitos de queso, and Danny did the same with his Yaroa. But just like many, this beautiful night would come to an end as these two lovebirds would go back to their respective homes, in different states away from each other. For over a year, the foundations of this story were built based on a long distance relationship. The hardships that came from this experience, only made this love grow stronger. They both learned to value their time together, share the distance, and appreciate every special moment while it lasted. Nevertheless, after a little over a year of this dynamic, Danny decided to move across the states for Katy. It was the desire for their love to prosper that led them both to move in together, and continue writing their love story soon after moving into the same city. However, not everything was clouds and rainbows as this beautiful story starts with nothing, but struggle and disagreement. Katy and Danny have gone through several relocations, job promotions, family losses, a whole pandemic, college graduations, many chapterversaries, and several Bridgerton watch-parties (Danny almost feels like he can play Colin Bridgerton’s role better than him). Nonetheless, love seems to always win in this beautiful story. On July 5th of 2024, Danny decided to sign his death sentence (not really lol) and got down on one knee to ask for Katy’s love and companionship forever. After learning the aforementioned lesson, she opted that time to finally be the Hero of his story forever, and said yes. 7 years later, God willing they will find themselves celebrating love, what will be forever everyone’s favorite 2026 memory: The Santoyo’s wedding. A journey full of challenges, in a race where love has always won, continues to win.
