We’ve known each other since 7th grade – a pivotal time in our lives when the girls did everything possible for the boys’ attention, which Haley & friends did by attending every one of their Stevenson Feeder Basketball games. For those who don’t know, Feeder Basketball was a team of athletes from all the junior highs that ‘feed’ into Stevenson High School. Though we went to different junior highs, these games & subsequent Friday nights loitering the circle drive at City Park in Lincolnshire led to our friend groups coming together with many shared memories through high school & beyond. It wasn’t until December 2016 that after several years of mutual interest, our friend Erin Polutnik gave us the push we needed by separately pulling us aside at a party, confirming each of our feelings and then insisting to the both of us we should be together. With confirmation from Erin, that night Haley invited Mike to her friends’ upcoming New Year’s Eve party and we’ve been together ever since.
