Sandrine and Sonny met during their freshman year of college back in 2018, and after staying on each other’s social media, they reconnected in early 2021. Their first date was at the Art Institute of Chicago, though it didn’t last long—if you know the bride, you know her attention span is short. They ended up ditching the museum and grabbing Shake Shack instead. That day was just the beginning, because a few months later, and two weeks into senior year, they officially became boyfriend and girlfriend. Sonny’s family immediately embraced Sandrine, calling her “their Dreeny,” and Sandrine’s family did the same for Sonny, lovingly referring to him as “their Sonny-in-law.” Many visits to Colorado and countless home-cooked Italian dinners later, they graduated college and began “real” life. A year after graduation, they moved in together, and rescued two sweet cats named Enzo and Loki. After countless travels, foodie adventures, and three and a half years together, Sonny proposed in January of 2025. They were surrounded by Sandrine’s favorite flowers, romantic candlelight, and their signature playlist of love songs.
