High on Something

First Date

Heather and I began our courtship over the phone, and I was given the task of setting up our first date. However, I had been sick for the better part of January and was anxious not to meet Heather until I was feeling better. This meant that I could either wait and risk starting out on a bad foot or set up the date and hope my drugs kept me together for a couple of hours. I decided the risk wasn't worth it, so I asked for places in Fayetteville that were casual and open for good conversation. One of my co-workers recommended Hugo's so I set it up. On the night of the date, I had a cocktail of over the counter remedies flowing through my system. My nose had finally stopped running as I got out of the car and waited for Heather to arrive. When Heather got there we hugged and headed downstairs. I made sure that Heather faced the door and windows so that the light from the outside would not reveal my drugged gaze. We both ordered and had a wonderful conversation, in which I may or may not completely remember, I even managed to not drop food down my shirt (which is a real win for me). Although i was under the influence of a multitude of decongestants, I knew that Heather was someone that I couldn't wait to see again.

Something about Diamonds

Proposal

It was Easter weekend, and my family was all in town because Michael was becoming Catholic on Easter Vigil and my dad was his sponsor. I had a strange inkling that something was going to happen that weekend because all of our families would be together, but I had no idea what would happen next. We were all dressed up and heading to church and Michael said we were having cake after mass, obviously I'm game, duh. So Michael becomes Catholic (YAY) and we are chatting with a few people afterwards when Michael says we are meeting his parents at a restaurant down by the baseball field for a late dinner. We drive along chatting about this and that and as we drive closer to the field I continue going on about how the Hogs should make a good run at the end of the season and how they lost that day but that was alright because we could still win the series, when Michael turns into the stadium parking lot. I was like "babe, the restaurant is behind the stadium" he says "I know" and continues to drive. We pull up to the main gate and there is a pathway lit by lanterns and a tent over the massive razorback on the ground. He leads me to the tent and tells me that he knew he wanted to marry me the first time we went to a game together (**hint hint** that's when I knew too!! ) and that he wanted to go to baseball games with me for the rest of his life!! He asked me to marry him and I yelled OF COURSE! To date it was the happiest night of our lives. But you bet I was asking when we were eating right after
